Coffee- Not Just for Drinking

Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world. Every day, millions of people around the globe wake up and sit down for their cup of morning coffee. But did you know that coffee is good for more than just a daily pick-me-up? It's actually an excellent odor neutralizer!

The reason it works is because coffee beans or grounds can actually absorb and trap nearby smells. This makes coffee a great, natural way to remove strong odors from shoes, refrigerators, or really anything else that might smell a little funky. Just sprinkle a few grounds in the shoes and let them sit overnight, and they'll smell much better the next day. (Just remember to wipe the coffee out before you wear the shoes again!)

Have you ever been in a perfume store and notice little cups of coffee beans lying around? They're not just for decoration. They're to help you get rid of one perfume smell before you move on to sample the next. It keeps you from getting your scents mixed up, which can leave you with a horrible headache.

At Ole Tradition Soap Co., we've created a coffee soap to help remove strong odors from your hands while you're cooking. Have you ever chopped up a clove of garlic, only to have your hands smell like garlic for the next week? If you hate garlic, that can be miserable. Our coffee bar, called The Sweet Espresso, contains actual coffee grounds that will help absorb these smells. It also contains a delicious-smelling fragrance oil that smells like a sweet latte. We like to cut the bar in half, so we have two, perfectly sized hand bars to keep by the kitchen sink.

Next time you have a smell that you need to get rid of, you have three options: you can deal with having onions and garlic on your hands for weeks on end, you can kill the odors with harsh chemicals that will dry out your hands in the process, or you can buy natural coffee soap that'll be gentle on your skin while removing all of those unwanted odors. The choice is yours, but I think I know what I'd choose!

If you'd like to purchase a bar of The Sweet Espresso, they can be found here.
